DROP IT LIKE IT'S HOT!
Project →  2D Animations  | Studio  →  Personal Project
Role  →  Animation - Design - Direction |  Duration → 5 Days
It all started when I listened to the remix of this song by the producer "Crankdat." I really loved what he did with the track, and it immediately sparked the desire to create a personal project.
At first, I didn’t even know where to begin, but I knew I could test new skills, explore a different animation style, and challenge myself to create something cool with it.
That’s when I had the idea to test a new technique, a mix of fake 3D + parallax, to create the classic bunny hop with an iconic lowrider car.
After finding a way to achieve this effect in After Effects, I felt like the background needed more contrast and action, so I decided to add some text animations to make the project even better.

First things first.
The first step was to prepare the background and separate the parts of the car that would be animated.
To animate the lowrider, I divided it into three parts: the wheel, the bumper/hood, and the windshield. It's this division that allows me to work with the parallax effect.

A detail that made a total difference was adding a shadow underneath and
animating it to react to the car's movement, following the same light source on the ground.

Bunny Hop!
A detail that made a difference during the bunny hop was the addition of a slight fisheye effect using the "warp" as the car jumps. This effect enhances the fake 3D sensation.
Here’s a comparison: without the effect applied (left side) and with the effect applied (right side).
Another detail that stands out is the shading on the rear wheels, which helps bring a greater sense of depth to the car
(we have to remember that this is just a 2D PNG image, so every little detail counts when it comes to turning it into 3D!).
One last detail I want to highlight is the 1-frame overlap between
the movement of the bumper and the front wheels! Can you notice the difference?

Let's talk more about this one ↓

Collors + Contrast + Motion

I was already happy with the bunny hop, but I still felt like something was missing.
That's when I decided to add more colors through gradient animation + contrast (with the ball interacting with the text) + movement (with the text moving in different directions from the car).
With the addition of these three elements, the project is finished, and anything beyond that would just be pure perfectionism on my part.
